Favicons
What is a favicon?
Favicons (short for favorite icons) are small 16x16 pixel images that appear next to a site name in bookmarks and to the left of the site url in browsers. The small icon also appears in tabs if you have multiple browser windows open in tabs.

Why does my site need one?
Favicons are one more way to add personalization to your website with a professional edge. They are small, but if designed correctly, they still allow for brand recognition. Favicons help with usability because the small graphic allows a user to find your site quickly in a list of bookmarks or a row of tabs.
