I stumbled across a blog one day completely by accident, and was promptly hooked on www.thinksimplenow.com . Reading this young woman’s blog about taking a “Clarity Day” gave me a true “A-HA moment.” Turn off the cell phone, the laptop, the television. Unplug. Write. People watch. Walk the dog. Breathe. Why do we need to be reminded to do these things? When you become a technology addict, you forget the clarity that comes from a day without wireless behavior.

Welcome to the launch of the new BigforkWEB Blog.

We intend to use this new Blog as a tool to share interesting information we come across with our clients and others that could enhance your website.  Technology, best practices and web standards are constantly evolving.  We come across new methods and cool website enhancements daily and we want to share these new capabilities with website owners.

We also want to keep people informed about what is going on at BigforkWEB.  Our company has grown dramatically over the last few years.  We have been and are working on many interesting projects for innovative and creative companies and individuals that we look forward to sharing with you.  We also have a dedicated team of designers, developers, and programmers that live and breathe all things web.  They are looking forward to using this Blog as a tool for communicating and sharing ideas with other developers in the Flathead and beyond.

We hope that you find this new addition to our website helpful.  If you have any ideas for things you would like to see or learn about please send us an email and let us know.  We want to address topics that our audience is curious about.

Lastly, I would like to recognize the hard work of Dani Taylor, our Creative Director, in leading the development of this Blog.  She, along with Carrie Short and Jana Primmer worked long hours putting this together and accomplished it all in a very short time.  They have a lot of ideas for future posts and they are all very excited to have this tool share those ideas with all of you.

Living on the Web as I do, I often run into flashy ”free downloads” and “free software” that tempt me as I travel along the internet highway. Occasionally I find something that’s not only free, no strings attached, no fine print or upgrade in 30 days, but is also extremely useful. Such is the case with IrfanView. Albeit awkward to spell and pronounce, it’s a very simple free tool that one can use for manipulating photos.

We frequently build Photo Galleries with web-based administration; these allow our clients to display their products and other interesting items on their websites. With a web-based admin, clients are able to add, edit or delete albums and photos on their own website.  However, to upload photos into your Photo Gallery, they must be of a reasonable and managable size, and they must be .jpg files.
